Mascaro’s scope of work for the Vallourec Star Fine Quality Mill project included over 150,000 cubic yards of excavation, 75,000 cubic yards of structural concrete, 7,481 tons of reinforcing steel, 27,150 lineal feet of underground pipe, 272,827 lineal feet of underground/embedded conduit, and 12,300 anchor bolts.

Mascaro was able to use this project to train some of its younger project engineers on HeavyBid.

Several iterations of the estimate were completed by many different individuals throughout the bidding and change order phases of the project. The cool thing about HeavyBid is that it’s easy enough to train people on, and Mascaro used this live project as a training ground for some of their younger project engineers.
