Attendees at HCSS Users Group Meetings have the unique opportunity to provide feedback directly to HCSS product managers, executives, and industry peers all in one place. Facilitated by roundtable discussions, and product town halls, their voices have the potential to shape the future of HCSS products, and the construction industry at large.
"We look forward to UGM each year because we know our customers will come with an enthusiasm to share feedback that helps to shape the direction of all our products - including HeavyBid," says Aaron Allshouse, Technical Product Manager, HCSS HeavyBid. "We can't thank our customers enough for their openness to share. Their suggestions and group discussion have been instrumental in HCSS implementing these updates for HeavyBid over the last year and many years prior."
HeavyBid is a product of customer suggestions, and we are proud to have worked closely with customers to help make estimating even faster. Below are the top five customer features implemented in the last year. All of which can be downloaded now on the HCSS Community portal.
Big Time Saver
1. Key indicators added to the bid summary window
During bid closing, users can now view their important calculations without the need for additional keystrokes. Adding key indicators to the bid summary window allows users to view their key indicators (calculations that are important to the customer), and allows users to spend more time on securing the win for their project vs making additional keystrokes.
Adjustments on the Fly
2. Added the ability to do a single line item adjustment to the quote sheet
When customers suggested that they could save time if they could make a simple adjustment to a single item in the quote sheet, adding this functionality was a no-brainer. Users no longer have to do the math for the change beforehand and apply it to the item's unit cost. In that event in the past, an item cost or adjustment changed, the end user needed to rework the price. Now users can make time-saving adjustments, and speed up quote sheets even more.
Are They Doing it Right?
3. Expanded views in production history
Have you always wanted to see how the folks in the field are actually building the work estimators are bidding? Within the production history module, HCSS users wanted the ability to view time cards and crew details so that estimators can make adjustments to provide even more accuracy to how the work is being done.
No More Confusing Three-Letter Codes
4. Adding more than 3 letters in the vendor solicitation module
When it came to the limitations of having only three letters represent vendors, HCSS Users voiced their opinion and we listened. Having more than three letters in vendor solicitation can be critical to account for different variables that might facilitate contact with a vendor.
More Consistent Material/Subcontractor Folder Organization
5. The ability to combine or show resources individually on a folder-by-folder basis
Users asked for the ability to combine or show resources on a folder-by-folder preference no matter if it was a material or subcontractor folder. Previously, material folders combined resources, and subcontractor folders split them out. Many users asked for both options for both material and subcontract folders, so we did exactly that. This customization to decide how to quote and price resources in an estimate can save time and keystrokes when needing to make adjustments to resources.
