The I-25 Rubbilization Project is on an existing four-lane freeway near Fort Collins, Colorado. The project consisted of rubblization of the existing 8-inch Portland cement concrete pavement (PCCP) and paving back three lifts of Hot Mix Asphalt. There was total of 113,149 square yards of rubbilization of concrete pavement and 37,536 tons of Grading S Hot Mix Asphalt. Aggregate Industries also had 21,483 tons of Stone Matrix Asphalt in the job, with a total contract amount of $10,679,834.
What makes it interesting?
The subcontractor for the rubblization was met at the 2014 HCSS Users Group Meeting and was bid three days later.
