This Liberty Plaza Project involved demolition of 50-year-old parking deck next to the Georgia State Capitol, import of 20,000 cubic yards of fill, concrete walls, precast concrete veneer, exposed aggregate colored concrete, custom-cut radiused granite pavers, and several other Class A park features. The project was completed in seven months and in time for the Governor of the State of Georgia to be inaugurated in the plaza. It was seen as a huge accomplishment. Unfortunately it rained on inauguration day so it was held inside.
What makes it interesting?
Liberty Plaza serves as the state equivalent of the Washington Mall in D.C. and will be used principally as demonstration space for people to exercise their freedom of speech.
How HCSS Software assisted with this project
The project was bid with HeavyBid and was managed with HeavyJob. This approach allowed us to have true grasp on the costs of the self-performed work as well as the subcontracted work from bidding through completion.
