The Boardwalk Trail at Lady Bird Lake is a spectacular structure stretching and meandering along the lake shoreline for nearly a mile and a half. The new trail provides pedestrians a much safer path either day or night from dangerous roads and highways nearby. This location enables everyone to enjoy the natural scenery and wildlife with the beautiful backdrop of downtown Austin, Texas. This is a completely custom project built for a specific purpose for everyone to enjoy; there is nothing else like it.
What makes it interesting?
Before the 1.2-mile gap in the trail was closed, pedestrians, runners, and bikers were forced to use the Riverside Drive sidewalk over I-35 to complete the 10.1-mile trail loop. The trail is part of the vision of Lady Bird Johnson to beautify the shorts of Austin’s central city lake.
How HCSS Software assisted with this project
Jay-Reese used HeavyBid, as they have for over 20 years, and because of all of the custom features they have been able to incorporate into their bids over the years, they were the low bidder on this very successful project.
