From headquarters in Sugar Land, TX right outside of Houston, HCSS is recognized as a pioneer and leader in construction software, with thousands of companies relying on the platform daily for all of their industry needs.

The CONSOL Energy Pump Stations and Pipelines project included 18 miles of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipeline through tough, hilly West Virginia terrain, to collect and treat mine water. Seven pump stations were completed over a 12-month time frame. The project, which ran through the winter months, was on an aggressive schedule to connect all pump stations. The project stretched over an 11-mile right-of-way over 19 ridges, including borings, streams, and highway crossings, up and down steel slopes and rock faces. The logistics of supplying and maintaining resources in remote locations also posed challenges.

What makes it interesting?

Rough terrain, cold weather, and remote locations all combined to cause difficulties in this project. However, Mascaro was able to complete seven pump stations in one year, and the project resulted in ultimately improving the environment of northern West Virginia by managing water from the mines.

How HCSS Software assisted with this project

Mascaro used HeavyBid to effectively manage the bid process along with a contingency of pipeline subcontractors and their own self-performed work.
