From headquarters in Sugar Land, TX right outside of Houston, HCSS is recognized as a pioneer and leader in construction software, with thousands of companies relying on the platform daily for all of their industry needs.

Work to Widen Highway to Four-Lane Expressway and Construct a Concrete Bridge included realignment and widening of five miles of an existing two-lane highway. The contract included more than 1.8 million cubic yards of roadway excavation, 143,000 cubic yards of Class 1 aggregate subbase, 41,000 cubic yards of lean concrete base, 132,000 tons of hot mix asphalt paving, over 11,000 cubic yards of structural concrete, over 14,000 lineal feet of drainage systems, and all other roadway appurtenances. The work was completed as a general contractor for Caltrans District 5. The total project value was $46.5 million.

What makes it interesting?

This project was constructed in a very sensitive environmental area with significant coordination required by the state, the contractor, the Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the Department of Fish and Game.

How HCSS Software assisted with this project

This project was one of the first the company submitted using HeavyBid. HeavyBid allowed Papich to neatly and thoughtfully organize all activities and crews while providing maximum control and analysis of all costs thanks to heavy highway construction software features.
