On May 20, 2013, a tornado hit Moore, Oklahoma, that would claim the lives of two dozen people and cause $2 billion in damages. In the aftermath, it was vital for repair crews to quickly assess the situation and get to work. To help get that work done and coordinate with FEMA, Silver Star Construction turned to HeavyJob Mobile to organize their debris removal projects. Silver Star was up and running on HCSS Mobile Apps the same day they called to install them.
What makes it interesting?
Silver Star completed the job on September 6, just three and a half months after the storm. The ease of using the HeavyJob Mobile and the ability to attach pictures to the daily diary were key to the company’s success. Given that they were working with FEMA daily, they needed to have good daily documentation of work areas and crew sizes.
How HCSS Software assisted with this project
The foreman and superintendent kept all the daily diary info and their employee time for this project on iPads using the HeavyJob mobile app. They were able to have this info at hand for the FEMA and city inspectors as needed.
