This project was comprised of the reconstruction of 8.37 miles of existing roadway on the I-15 Interstate in Beaver County, Utah. Work took place on both north and southbound lanes, and in addition to 9 inches of new asphalt pavement, included structure renovations, various culvert improvements and extensions, fencing and updated signs. The finished project offers improved mobility for road users and the ability to monitor roadway conditions using Closed Circuit Television Cameras and Road Weather Information Systems now accessible through fiber optics placed during reconstruction.
What makes it interesting?
This project used around-the-clock paving. While this technique ensured the project would stay on or ahead of schedule, it was primarily utilized to reduce the number of start-and-stop joints that would require smoothness grinding. 24-hour paving was implemented to allow early completion of the project, and it also gives drivers a smoother ride.
How HCSS Software assisted with this project
HCSS HeavyBid, HeavyJob and HeavyJob Field mobile app were all used on this project. On this job in particular, the HCSS HeavyJob Field mobile app allowed our field personnel to quickly and accurately report and track employee time card information, equipment hours, and production quantities with an electronic, single-entry source.
